Formation Directors write Manual

The Manual of Formation is a description of all the programs of formation in the Region (aspirancy, postulancy, novitiate, philosophy, theology, pastoral formation and continuing education).  Its aim is to provide clear and wise guidance to present and future formation directors in their work of helping young Crosiers mature in their vocations.  All the Provinces of the Order are expected to develop manuals appropriate to their situations.
Highlights of the October meeting in the Congo included discussions about the participation of the families of Congolese confreres in the formation process.  Families will be invited to participate in admission procedures, in liturgical rites of profession and ordination, in the care of their sons who may become ill and in helping correct serious misconduct.  A program of ongoing information about the Order and of participation by families in Crosier community events is also envisioned.  Other significant discussions centered on making effective evaluations of the Brothers at the various levels of formation, on the use of spiritual direction, on aid for departing members and on the preparation of formation directors themselves.
All the propositions will be discussed and decided upon by the Regional Superior with his Council.
